A personal call for you. A spoken alert for your team.
Choose one channel or enable both. They supplement the message containing raid details and are connected separately after Smart Alarm setup.
When you step away from your computer
Incoming Telegram call
The Slx service account calls you in Telegram when a raid alert triggers. You can close the website; the call arrives in the Telegram app.
No conversation or audio recording. The call ends after you answer or it times out. Each teammate connects and tests their own incoming calls.
Set up Telegram callsWhen your team plays in Discord
An alarm spoken in your voice channel
The bot joins your chosen channel, announces the alert and leaves. For example: “Raid. Grid G14.” Your team hears the signal while playing.
Choose the voice, detail level and Raid alert event. Set the pause between alerts and quiet hours. The bot needs permission to connect and speak.
Set up Discord voiceThe Telegram message keeps the alert details. You can also connect a Discord text channel, configured separately from voice alerts.
Get your power, sensor, and alarm ready
You need a power source, a Seismic Sensor, a Smart Alarm (a smart alarm with a dish), and a wiring tool. A Smart Switch is just a switch: on its own it doesn't detect shots or base damage.
Connect the devices with wires
Connect the power output to the sensor's Power In. Connect the sensor's Power Out to the alarm's Power In. For a simple direct circuit with no other consumers, give the sensor at least 2 units of power: 1 for it and 1 for the alarm. Check the actual signal with the wiring tool. Extra circuit elements need a separate calculation.
Set up the sensor zone
The sensor reacts to explosions within the selected radius, not to any wall damage. The setting range is 1–30 m. Place it so the part of the base you need falls inside the zone. A large base may need more than one sensor.
Connect Rust+ to the base server
In your personal profile, open “My base”, connect Rust+ and check the server name and connection state. This supplies Smart Alarm signals; linking Telegram or Discord alone is not enough.
Connect Smart Alarm to your protective circuit
Place a Smart Alarm in Rust and feed it a signal from a sensor or your electrical circuit. The in-game circuit determines when it triggers. The service receives that signal and does not automatically detect damage to every wall.
Add the device and choose Raid mode
Start adding a device in the dashboard and select Pair in the game when prompted. Name the alarm, for example “Outer wall”, enter the base grid and choose Raid mode. General alarms serve other signals and do not replace raid alert setup.
Test a regular alert message
Open the Slx Rust Tracker bot in Telegram. Keep delivery to your private chat or connect the team’s Telegram group. The message should clearly identify the alarm, server and grid so you can act after a call.
Link your personal Telegram calls
In your profile, open “Notifications” → “Personal Telegram call” → “Start linking”. Send the one-time command to the service account shown by the dashboard. Return to the website, refresh the state, enable calls and run a test. Check that your phone actually shows an incoming call, and allow calls from that account in Telegram settings.
Connect Discord voice alerts
Open “Discord” in your profile, link your account and add the bot to the server you need. Under “Discord voice alerts”, select the server and voice channel. The bot requires Connect and Speak permissions. Select Raid alert, a voice and whether to speak details, then enable voice. The text channel is selected separately.
Test voice delivery and set cooldowns
Join the selected Discord voice channel and select “Test now”. Then set the cooldown between matching alerts and quiet hours if needed. Discord quiet hours use UTC and can suppress voice raid alerts too. Leave the fields empty if you need alerts around the clock.
Run a complete test from your base
Create a controlled in-game Smart Alarm trigger. Check the Telegram message, call status in the alert card, your personal incoming call and the Discord announcement. If you just tested the channel, wait for its configured cooldown. Repeat the test after changing servers, pairing devices again or changing Discord permissions.
You are away from the PC while the team stays in Discord
An alarm named “Outer wall” at grid G14 triggers in Raid mode. Telegram receives a detailed message, and your personally enabled incoming call starts. The bot joins the selected Discord voice channel and announces the alert, including the grid if details are enabled. The team can check the base while you return to your computer.
Check the result
- Rust+ is connected to the correct server, and Smart Alarm is added in Raid mode.
- The alarm name and base grid are correct.
- A test message reaches your private Telegram chat or connected group.
- Your personal Telegram calls are linked, enabled and tested on your phone.
- A Discord voice channel is selected, Raid alert is enabled and the test alert is audible.
- The alert cooldown and Discord quiet hours match your expectations.
- You have triggered the actual Smart Alarm as a controlled test. Testing a delivery channel alone does not test the in-game circuit.
Voice, text and calls are configured separately
Selecting a Discord text channel does not enable speech. The website sound toggle does not link Telegram calls. Open the relevant settings and test the delivery method you intend to use.
If no incoming call appears
Check the alert card first. “Waiting for confirmation” means the selected Smart Alarm threshold; “Retrying delivery” indicates a temporary error; “Account not linked” or “Calls disabled” means you need to open Notifications. The threshold does not apply to offline monitoring. Then check Telegram call permissions, whether the service account is blocked, phone volume and Do Not Disturb mode. Use the account shown by the current linking form because the service line may change.
If the bot is not audible in Discord
Check that you are in the selected voice channel, the bot is on the server and Connect and Speak are allowed. Check bot volume, enabled voice, the Raid alert event, UTC quiet hours and alert cooldowns. After changing permissions, refresh the channel list and run another test.
Other voice notification sources
The same Discord section can separately enable teammate deaths, AI Watch, Audio Watch and Queue Watch. Each source needs its own setup. This guide checks the Smart Alarm → raid alert → selected delivery channels chain.
We were shot at again two minutes later, but there's no new message. Why?
That's not necessarily a failure. In "Raid" mode, SLX merges signals from one alarm into an active incident until 10 minutes pass between signals. The last-signal time and the counter are updated; the existing message may be edited. Very frequent duplicates are filtered out separately. Check the raid history: if the new signal is there, a new message may not have been needed. If it isn't, check the input signal, the Rust+ connection, and whether alerts are turned off.
Why doesn't a switched-on Smart Switch report every shot?
A switch only supplies power. If it keeps the Smart Alarm constantly on, the next shot doesn't create a new activation. You need a sensor to detect explosions. Before testing again, make sure the alarm has returned to the inactive state and the sensor has fired again; waiting two minutes doesn't guarantee that on its own.
Will there be an alert if we're online? And if everyone has logged off?
A Smart Alarm raid signal in SLX doesn't require the whole team to be offline. You need a working in-game circuit, a powered-on device, active Premium, and Rust+ signal delivery. Don't pause the alert. The "offline only" rule in switch automation and the separate Offline guard are different features. After setup, test both scenarios.
Will the bot call a regular mobile number?
No, calls to a phone number aren't supported right now. What's available is a separately configured incoming call in Telegram, a voice alert in Discord, and sound in the open dashboard. A Telegram call needs internet, a completed link, and incoming calls allowed; it's not a cellular call or an SMS.
Do I need to keep the site open on my phone?
For server-side message delivery and a configured Telegram call, you don't need the site open. Dashboard sound and browser notifications depend on the open page and device limits. Before leaving the game, check Telegram or Discord separately: a browser test doesn't confirm they work.
Will re-linking help if only the map doesn't work?
Don't start by removing the link. Open "Diagnostics": a map error doesn't mean the overall Rust+ connection is lost. If both chat and commands are gone, look at the connection cause and the next step. If it fails again, copy the support data.
Will there be vendor and Cargo notifications?
In the August 6, 2026 Power Trip update, Facepunch stopped sending shop, Cargo, helicopter, and traveling vendor markers to Rust+. So we can't promise "the vendor is heading to grid such-and-such" notifications on regular servers. Having the setting in the dashboard doesn't bring back missing data. This is a map limitation separate from Smart Alarm, devices, and chat; on a server with changed data output, things may differ.
Is this a real Telegram call or a sound on the website?
It is an incoming Telegram call from a Slx service account. You do not need an open website tab. The call is a signal: no conversation starts, the microphone is not used and no audio is recorded. The call ends after you answer or after a timeout. Website sounds and browser raid calls are separate settings that work only while the website is open.
Can I receive a Telegram call and Discord voice alert together?
Yes. They are separate delivery methods: personal calls are connected in “Notifications”, and the voice channel in “Discord”. Enable and test each. A regular Telegram message remains an additional way to read the alert details.
What does the bot say in Discord?
The bot joins the selected voice channel, announces a short alert and leaves. If details are enabled, it adds available context such as the grid or base section name. Settings include the voice, events, cooldown between matching alerts and quiet hours.
Does every team member need to link calls?
Yes. Each member links and enables Telegram calls in their own profile. Linking one user does not enable personal calls for the whole team. Discord voice alerts are heard by members of the selected voice channel.
Do raid alerts still work after Rust+ map events and shops were removed?
Yes. Smart Alarm uses a connected device signal rather than shop, Cargo or oil rig markers. Missing map markers do not disable raid alerts, Telegram calls or Discord voice delivery. Smart Alarm still requires a working in-game circuit and Rust+ connection.
Why did the message arrive but the call or voice alert fail?
Open the alert card in “Base security”. It shows whether the service is waiting for more signals, missing a linked account, pausing the service line, delivering a call or reporting a specific error. Telegram requires completed personal linking, enabled calls and permission for incoming calls from the service account. Discord requires the bot on the server, a selected voice channel, Connect and Speak permissions, enabled voice and the Raid alert event. Voice delivery also has its own quiet hours and cooldown.
Does an open website prevent the Telegram call?
No. Telegram calls use a separate service account and do not depend on an open tab. The website only displays delivery status. Offline monitoring starts a call at the first confirmed event. For Smart Alarm, check that the device uses Raid mode rather than General notification mode.
Will every repeated signal start another call?
Signals from one attack are grouped into an incident. Telegram calls have repeat settings and a protective cooldown for each recipient. A “protective cooldown” status does not mean the alert was lost: the service will retry after it while the incident remains active. Discord voice has a separate cooldown between events of the same type.
Hear the alert even when a quiet notification is easy to miss
SLX can call you on Telegram and announce the alert in your Discord channel at the same time, so the team can hear it without leaving the game.
