How to track a Rust player by Steam ID

To follow a player, copy their Steam profile URL, add it in the dashboard and choose a tracking mode. The tracker then records their logins and logouts. Tracking uses a unique Steam profile rather than a nickname: identical Steam names may belong to different people, and changing a nickname does not lose the target.

Example

01

Copy the Steam profile URL

Use an address such as steamcommunity.com/profiles/SteamID64 or a custom URL such as steamcommunity.com/id/name. Nickname-only search is intentionally not used.

02

Add the player in the dashboard

Open “Players”, paste the URL and optionally set a clear label, such as a clan name or the player’s role.

03

Choose a tracking mode

You can track the player appearing in Rust on any server, or bind tracking to a particular server for a narrower use case.

04

Let the tracker collect history

The currently known status is available immediately after adding a player. Typical login times, average sessions and offline estimates become more useful as observations accumulate.

Practical example

Follow a player who changes their nickname

Add the Steam profile by SteamID64 and set your own label. Even if the player changes their nickname, the target remains the same and activity history continues to be collected for that Steam account.

Check the result

  • The card shows the correct Steam profile.
  • The tracking mode targets the server you need or any server.
  • The current status has a clear data source.
  • Activity history appears after several observations.
Things to know

Steam privacy limits

If the owner hides game data, Steam may not reveal an exact server or playtime. Slx Rust Tracker shows the source and does not present an estimate as a confirmed fact.

Free plan

Without Premium, you can track up to three players at a time. History for targets you have already added is retained when you change plans.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to add a player?

Their Steam profile URL. Copy it, add it in the dashboard and select whether to track a particular server or any server.

How many players can I track for free?

Up to three at a time. History for targets you have already added is retained when you change plans.

What happens if the player changes their nickname?

Tracking continues. It uses the unique Steam profile rather than the nickname, so the target remains the same and activity history continues to be recorded.

Why can I not see the player’s server or playtime?

If the profile owner hides their game data, Steam may not reveal an exact server or playtime. Slx Rust Tracker identifies the data source and does not present an estimate as a confirmed fact.

No need to check a player manually

The dashboard records login history and shows a typical offline window, when the other player’s base is usually empty. Receive a Telegram notification when the player returns.

Your first 3 days of Premium are free, with no card or automatic renewal. Sign in with Telegram; no separate registration.
